Chuck and Joanna Landau established "Starvin Marvin's Peetza Joynt" in November of 1997. The original business was located on the same corner of 4th & Jefferson in downtown Waterloo, Iowa.
The original building, built in 1903, was destroyed by one of the largest fires in the history of downtown Waterloo on June 4th of 1999.
Wanting to rebuild their dream, Chuck and Joanna purchased new land and constructed a 6,000 square foot building.
They reopened on October 18th of 2000 under the new name of "Doughy Joey's Peetza Joynt". (Changed to nationally recognized trademark).
We have a seating capacity of approximately 150 with a party room holding up to 50 guests, Doughy Joey's has a unique environment you won't find anywhere else!
Working in the family business at an early age, Chuck became the owner of his first business in 1987.
In 1997, Chuck created Doughy Joey's Peetza Joynt. Today, we serve two locations in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Chuck's son, Michael, is working with him and the two of them are always looking to see what is next.
"Our pizza was a delightful combination of tangy sauce, stretchy cheese, and a soft, bready, flavorful crust. I was literally heartbroken that we couldn't finish a large between the two of us and didn't have anywhere to put the leftovers."
